Before there were CF affiliated gyms, people who stumbled across CrossFit on the internet learned the movements by watching videos of Greg Amundson, Annie Sakamoto, Nicole Carroll and others hammer the WODs. But now that CrossFit has had eight years of development, it's easy to pick out technical flaws we won't accept: Greg's terrible, elbows-down rack position, his failure to lock out overhead in the frontal plane, and the way he falls forward on the balls of his feet at the bottom of his squat. None of that takes away from his status as the original CrossFit firebreather. Pretty amazing that over 3000 gyms worldwide have sprung from the humble 800 sq ft space pictured in this video! I just it goes to show the power of a good idea.
